Weekly Update – Jan. 8

The 2018 Monster Jam season opened in four locations throughout the country. Triple Threat and arena action set the stage for what is developing as an exciting year.

Triple Threat Series West (Salt Lake City, Utah)

Tristan England (EarthShaker®) jumped into the early point lead, picking up two event championships on the weekend. England also notched wins in Racing, Two-Wheel Skills and Donuts. Krysten Anderson (Grave Digger®) scored a pair of Freestyle wins and added two Donut championships. Cynthia Gauthier (Monster Mutt® Dalmatian) captured two Racing wins with Bernard Lyght (Alien Invasion™) besting competition in two Speedster Obstacle Course challenges. (Full Results)

Next Event – Tacoma, WA – Jan. 12-14

Triple Threat Series East (Birmingham, AL)

Justin Sipes (Megaldon®) took a big step in seeking a second series championship in his career, capturing two of the three event crowns. Sipes swept the ATV competition and added competition wins in Freestyle and Speedster Obstacle. Brandon Vinson (Grave Digger) kept the competition close with wins in four different competitions.  Mark List (El Toro Loco®) went 8-1 in Monster Jam racing, claiming two titles on the weekend. Triple Threat Series Central (Nashville, TN)

The tightest points race in Monster Jam is developing in this series as Colton Eichelberger (Max-D™) holds a slim one-point advantage over Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger) after Round One. Eichelberger used consistency to add to wins in Freestyle, ATV and Speedster Obstacle action. Menninga swept Two-Wheel Skills and added a pair of Freestyle and racing wins en route to a pair of event championships. Bari Musawwir (Zombie™) scored a pair of Donut wins and grabbed an event championship. (Full Results)

Next Event – Kansas City, MO – Jan. 12-14

Arena Tour (Charlotte, NC)

Cam McQueen (Northern Nightmare) opened the series with an Event championship and backed it up with second title, but finds himself a handful of points behind in his championship quest. Pablo Huffaker (Grave Digger) swept the Donut competition and added a pair of Racing wins with a Two-Wheel Skills title to boot. Both Huffaker and McQueen captured Freestyle with Linsey Read (Scooby-Doo!™) winning the final Freestyle. (Full Results)

Stadium Championship Series 1

The second stop of the series took the 14 Monster Jam competitors to PETCO Park in San Diego, California.  Todd LeDuc (Mutant™) was out to avenge a first round racing loss from the week before and marched through the field to claim his first Racing championship. Neil Elliott (Max-D™) put on a clinic to the delight of the fans to dominate the Two Wheel Skills, getting the highest score ever awarded. The night was capped when Brianna Mahon (Whiplash™) claimed her first career Freestyle victory. The Event Championship went to LeDuc, but Adam Anderson (Grave Digger®) retains the series point lead. Stadium Championship Series 2

The series moved to Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. For the second straight week, Jimmy Creten (Bounty Hunter) advanced to the Racing final. Creten, who had benefitted from a first round bye, marched past two opponents to face Charlie Pauken (Grave Digger) for the second time this season. Creten repeated his Tampa victory over Pauken to claim the title. Tom Meents (Max-D) showed mastery in the Two Wheel Skills event to add to his accomplishments. Chuck Werner (El Toro Loco®) picked up his second straight Freestyle win. Colt Stephens (Zombie) recorded a career first Event Championship. The points are tied at the top with Pauken and Werner sharing the lead. (Results) (Points)

Stadium Championship Series 3 (begins this week)

Next Stop: New Orleans, LA – Jan. 27

Monster Jam will be visiting three stadiums this weekend with event in Toronto (Jan. 13-14), Anaheim (Jan. 13) and Tampa(Jan. 13)
