Trilingual flashlight concert at the Greek Theatre Los Angeles smart + + musical + + endearing

A flashlight concert of the Berlin based band RUMPELSTIL should certainly be on your “not to be missed list”!

Something in between a night walk and a rock concert. The event really gets going at twilight when flashlights, headlights and bikelights come on.

And then it’s happening: An evening concert in English, Spanish and German that is a unique experience for the whole family. There is singing, dancing and joyful participating.

RUMPELSTIL’s songs are playful and a little challenging and that is why they are fun. They are perfectly suitable for families big and small and their concerts are bursting with music for all generations that captivates both children and adults.

One of the concert’s highlights comes at sunset, when thousands of spectators shine their flashlights into the evening sky and start a unique, non-verbal interaction with the band creating a magical, shimmering atmosphere.

The band has cult status across Germany. Every year since 2012 they have sold out the Waldbuehne Berlin venue that holds 22,000 visitors and have delighted young and old in more than 30 cities across Germany.

Overall, it is an outstanding cultural experience that entertains and intrigues American families with contemporary, fun German rock and pop music, language and culture.

Band description
The six musicians: Blanche Elliz, Max Vonthien, Peter Schenderlein, Joern Brumme, Micha Ritter and René Decker are masters of a musical and original culturally pleasing entertainment.

And with sparkling ease, musical refinement and considerable wit they entrance with songs about friendship, everyday heroes, sustainability, climate & energy, physics, and intercultural ideas all while maintaining a high energy, fun stage show.

RUMPELSTIL has been awarded many times: Children’s Culture Award 1997, Leopold Media Price, Good music for children“ in 2008, 2010 and 2017.

The concert is part of the “Year of German-American Friendship” initiative in 2018/2019. This is a comprehensive and collaborative initiative of the Federal Foreign Office, the Goethe-Institute, and with support of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), highlighting the decades long relationship between the countries grounded in common values, interests, and goals.
