Take a break from the Black Friday madness and unwind with us at Pretend City! Today is Family Friday at the museum and we are inviting everyone to enjoy some holiday activities and games! We will continue the Thanksgiving celebration by participating in some turkey themed fun!

Time:    Morning Activities:  Sensational Story Time @ 11:30 a.m.

Afternoon Activities:  Music & Movement @ 1:30 p.m.; Sensational Story Time @ 3:30 p.m.

Details: Pretend City will be a great place to get away from all the Black Friday Madness. We will be playing with our Thanksgiving leftovers, Dancing and Singing to Turkey Songs, and reading books about thankfulness.

• Art Studio Sessions: Community Turkey > Help us add some color to our HUGE Thanksgiving Turkey in the Art Studio today using colored tissue paper squares.
• Sensational Story Time (11:30am): Bear Says Thanks > Join us in Orange Plaza as we read this book by Karma Wilson & Jane Chapman followed by an art activity where your child will be able to make their own quilt square.
• Music & Movement (1:30pm): Turkey Hokey Pokey > Join us for some dancing and singing as we learn the Turkey Hokey Pokey!
• Sensational Story Time (3:30pm): Thanks for Thanksgiving > We will be reading this Thanksgiving story by Julie Markes and talking about all the things that we are thankful for. Children will be able to make a special Thank You card following the book reading.

Grown-Up Tip: Encourage your child to think of all the things that they are grateful for this holiday season. Write the list down for them and post the list somewhere in their room. Read the list together on those days that your child is feeling sad or upset. Reminding them of all the things they have to be thankful for will help them put things in perspective. This will work for parents too! Make your own list and post it somewhere as a reminder to you.
