National Dance Day Celebration
The Music Center partners with The Dizzy Feet Foundation to present the West Coast’s flagship free celebration of National Dance Day for the sixth year, featuring a dance extravaganza with both performances and participatory elements. Children can join award-winning author Hope Anita Smith for a poetry slam where young poet is a winner! Children’s Book World needs sixteen poets and divided them into two groups (Ages 7-10 and ages 11 - 14). Twelve young poets (ages 8-14) will get three minutes to read a poem they’ve written. Ms. Smith will select one poem, judged on content and performance, to receive a $25 Children’s Book World gift certificate; all other participating poets will receive $5 gift certificates
