為了慶祝 4月 22日地球日（Earth Day）和推行環保節能生活方式，蒙特利公園市27日將舉行地球日慶典，倡導單車出行，宣揚節能環保知識，27-28日同時舉行櫻花節賞櫻花活動。兩項適合全家參與的好玩活動一起舉行，一同裨益大家的身與心！
騎單車不僅是利於民眾強身健體的休閒活動，也是保護環境的象徵，蒙特利公園市自四年前就開始單車行的地球日慶典活動，這次和積極倡導騎單車的公益組織 ActiveSGV 合作，甚至未來準備在市內鋪設單車專用道，給民眾創造安全騎單車的環境，以鼓勵更多的民眾選擇用單車代替出行，減少廢氣，保護環境。
此次單車行的路線主要是環繞蒙市，長約6英里，沿途路過蒙市有歷史意義的建築，也是你平時開車容易錯過的風景，一路上會有安管員護送單車騎士，參加民眾的年齡不得小於10歲，官方建議在網上提前註冊，網站地址 : https://www.montereypark.ca.gov/1165/Earth-Day-Festival
Join the City of Monterey Park, Monterey Park Environmental Commission, and Bike San Gabriel Valley on a family-friendly community bike ride in celebration of Earth Day! The ride will be guided by ride marshals as well as the Monterey Park Police Department.
The City of Monterey Park Environmental Commission is hosting the Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Earth Day Festival is a joint event with the Cherry Blossom Festival and will be held at Barnes Park on 350 S. McPherrin Ave., Monterey Park. The Eco-Summit is co-organized with the non-profit organization PlanetSave. In addition, the Earth Day Festival will be celebrated with Bike Ride events, which include the Family Ride and Hill Challenge Ride.

Time: 7 AM – 11 AM
Once again, the Commission will be co-organizing the bike rides with ActiveSGV (formerly BikeSGV). Bike enthusiasts can choose between the Hill Challenge Ride that departs at 8:00 a.m. or the Family-Friendly Ride that departs at 9:00 a.m. at Barnes Park by Ramona Ave. near Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library. Bike ride on-site registration starts at 7:00 a.m. Pre-registration is highly recommended and available via online registration at Eventbrite for “Monterey Park Bike Rides 2019″. Please note that all riders who are under 17 years of age must wear a helmet and be accompanied by an adult. No training wheels are allowed and bikes must be in good working condition.
This year’s Earth Day Festival will feature multiple environmental organizations, institutions, and public agencies which represent various environmental issues related to the Monterey Park community, such as waste & recycling, stormwater, water conservation, public utilities, energy conservation, renewable energy, air quality, green building, alternative fuel and alternative transportation, drought-tolerant landscaping, code enforcement, and environmental education. The Earth Day Festival will also feature an Eco-Summit that will bring speakers and presentations on various environmental issues for our community.
The theme of this year’s Earth Day is “Energy Efficiency”. The Earth Day Festival and Eco-Summit will be a fun and fully environmentally-educative event with entertaining games for parents and children. All festivities are free and open to the public.
The rides are free but pre-registration is recommended, sign up via the Eventbrite link. Register in advance and you’ll be entered into a raffle. You can also register at the event.

PARKING: Free parking on neighborhood streets and at City Hall.
-NO TRAINING WHEELS
-Pets are welcome to join but you will be responsible for taking care of them. Please keep dogs on a leash.
-Participants 17 years old or younger must wear a helmet. They should also be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.
-Please drink plenty of water the night before and also remember to bring a water bottle to the ride.
-Eat a light breakfast on the day of the ride.
-BikeSGV will have sunscreen and water so you can refill your bottles.
