8sian Media TV Anchor Workshop

On October 4, 2015, we went to 8sian Media studio office to learn how to do a TV anchor. First, we explored the office for awhile, then the vice president came and to talk to us about 8sian. He said 8sian is specialized in restaurant TV programs; 8sian produces and edits the TV programs then upload the final products and send the programs to the restaurants so then they could play the programs in their restaurant TVs.8sian restaurant TV programs are available in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. The interesting thing I found out is 8sian TV programs are only available restaurants not at home. You can see 8sian in Garden café and many other restaurants.

After we went into the studio we split up in to teams. Then I had the chance to be the first one on camera and that was the best part of this tour. I read the scripts they gave me, I was scared but excited at the same time. I practiced the skills that I learned from 321 acting school. It was very useful.   We also edited our own video. Finally, it was time to take a group picture and we got a Certificate of Completion. The most exciting part was we were told that we might be on TV like real reporter!

PBS Socal Studio Tour

We took a tour at PBS studio. Ms. Alison and Christine were show us around. The first room we went was the control room. The second room is the makeup room and the waiting room. The waiting room is a place where people or actors wait for their turn. The makeup room is a place the actors and people to put the make up on so they could look good on TV. The next room is the sound control room. They have soundproof walls. They could control the sound from the film. The last room is called the production room with expensive cameras and lights that could light up a concert. There is an “ON AIR" that warn people when the show is filming. There is a new show coming up called Ready, jet,go. It’s about an alien coming to earth and living a normal life like people. I’m looking forward to watch it in the winter. I like the PBS tour because I learned a lot of stuff that I didn’t know about TV station.
