The Getty Museum stays open until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday evenings, creating the perfect opportunity to illuminate the holidays. Beginning November 16, visitors can sip complimentary mulled cider as they take in the twinkling lights of the city, and visit the exhibition Canterbury and St. Albans: Treasures from Church and Cloister, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a close look at radiant stained glass windows from Canterbury Cathedral and the illuminated manuscript pages of the St. Albans Psalter. Abelardo Morell: The Universe Next Door and At the Window: The Photographer’s View provide more opportunities to reflect on light depicted by contemporary and early photographers.
Throughout the holidays, the Restaurant offers a special prix-fixe Canterbury-themed menu with steak, Yorkshire pudding and a warm apple crumble served with a glass of Ruby Port. Visit the Museum store for art-inspired holiday gifts, including replicas of the Canterbury stained glass to brighten anyone’s windows.
Saturdays offer a perfect opportunity to take advantage of the Getty’s Pay Once, Park Twice program, offering same-day parking at both the Getty Center and the Getty Villa for one $15 fee.
