Are you busy attending Christmas parties or annual dinners this holiday?  Maintaining a good balance between exercise and caloric intake could be challenging during the holiday season, let alone being a good role model for our kids!  The following family guide provided by Smarteater shows us how to stay healthy with your children in this holiday season!

Ways to Stay Fit during the Holiday

  • 1.    Take time to play. Whether with your kids, grandkids or pets. Make active play part of your day.
  • 2.       Move or walk around while making phone calls or lift water bottles while you talk.
  • 3.       Check out quick circuit-training or Zumba facilities. They are available in many places.
  • 4.       Wash dishes by hand and forget about the dishwasher (for moms).
  • 5.       Wash your car by hand and forget about the carwash (for dads).
  • 6.       During TV commercials, dance, march or do steps in place.
  • 7.       Get fit cooking. Do leg-lifts, squats or stretches while the oven is on.
  • 8.       Enjoy a after-dinner or after-party walk with friends or family.
  • 9.       In airport terminals, walk around while waiting to board.
  • 10.    Even if you're already done your holiday shopping, walk around the mall circuit at least once. Mall is a great place to be at when the weather is bad.
