The annual Manhattan Beach Pumpkin Car Race and Festival was held on the Sunday before Halloween.  We had loads of fun watching kids and parents racing their pumpkins in so many creative designs!  Of course, the warm balmy autumn sun was another great reason for us to hit the beach too!

The pumpkin race was preceded by the annual Sketcher Pier to Pier Walk in the morning.

Another sunny day at the beach

Manhattan Beach really loves its pumpkin race, you can tell from the size of the audience crowd. Here we are enjoying the warm autumn sunshine!

Gentlemen and ladies...start your engines...

At the finish line...one of the referee's jobs was to stop the speeding pumpkin cars from hitting the audience.

Is this a dog pretending to be a pumpkin or a pumpkin dressing up as a dog?

The race off between two pumpkins from Manhattan Beach Mayor (the blue one) and the Fire Department (the red one of course) Guess who won?

The flying monster pumpkin from Hawaii?

Daddy, our pumpkin won't move, why?!?!

After 4 hours of racing, we're at the final round.

These pumpkins have been winners for many qualifying round before they could enter the final race. The start off was really fierce!

Oh no, 3 of them swayed off to the sideline and could not reach the finish line!

The winning team celebrates their victory with a really really tall trophy.
