On each evening of the Festival of Arts summer schedule, ticket holders are amazed and enchanted by ninety minutes of tableaux vivants (living pictures), incredibly faithful re­creations of classical and contemporary works of art, with real people posing to look exactly like their counterparts in the original pieces.

An outdoor amphitheater, professional orchestra, original score, live narration, intricate sets, sophisticated lighting, expert staff and hundreds of dedicated volunteers have won recognition for the Pageant of the Masters as the best presentation of its kind.

Laguna Beach kicks off its epic annual arts celebration, including the popular Pageant of the Masters during which actors, designers, and a full orchestra recreate great works of art as living pictures.

Since 1932 Laguna Beach has hosted the nightly Pageant of the Masters. The 2016 master theme is “Partners". The festival also includes children’s activities, an exhibit of children’s artwork, live entertainment, and art workshops daily.

The Pageant of the Masters is the Festival of Arts’ crowning jewel and arguably one of the most unique productions in the entire world. It is world-renowned in the artistry and theatrical illusion of living pictures. Each night during the summer season at 8:30 the Festival of Arts presents this famous attraction.

The 2016 Pageant of the Masters sets out in search of stories of compelling collaborations that led to the creation of unforgettable artworks in this summer’s presentation of “Partners.”

Filled with provocative and passionate tales of some of art’s dynamic duos – artists and patrons, models, muses, even dance partners! Be sure to bring someone special with you, as “Partners” pulls back the curtain to reveal the significant others without whom the creation of great masterpieces might not have been possible. Sometimes, two is the magic number!
