DESCRIPTION:Join Metro Art Los Angeles in welcoming Capoeira Exchange for an afternoon of movement and music as we explore the beautiful\, entrancing practice of capoeira.\n\nSunday\, July 15\n1:00 pm - 4:00pm\nUnion Station Ticketing Hall\n\n12:45pm Meet in front of Starbucks\, then a procession through the waiting room\n1:00 - 1:30pm Classes for beginners and separate warm-ups for the more experienced\n1:30 - 4:00pm Roda\n\nFree and open to the public\, no RSVPs required. Everyone welcome\, No Uniforms. Audience participation is welcome!\n\nThe event is led by local instructors Muito Tempo and Saracuru and will feature an introductory class taught by special guest\, visiting Professora Sarara.\n\nCapoeira Exchange is a roda where we come together and play. Respect to our teachers\, ancestors\, and each other is always given as we exchange information through our games. We celebrate the different lineages we all come from by playing different toques (rhythms) on the berimbau and the types of games the instrument commands. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that incorporates dance\, song\, music and oral history.
