The goal of Roots & Shoots is to foster respect and compassion for all living things\, to promote understanding of all cultures and beliefs\, and to inspire each individual to take action to make the world a better place for people\, other animals\, and the environment. Every September\, Roots & Shoots youth groups gather to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Peace.\n\nThis year\, we’re honored to host Dr. Goodall and local youth from Roots & Shoots groups for the International Day of Peace at the L.A. Zoo\, featuring a Peace Initiative project expo\, Peace Day parade\, live entertainment\, and a message of peace from Dr. Goodall herself in our World of Birds Theater. Guests may view a simulcast of the lecture at other locations within the Zoo free of supplemental charge\, subject to capacity.\n\nPLEASE NOTE: Remote live viewing of Jane Goodall’s presentation is available free with Zoo admission via jumbotron in front of the World of Birds Theater and at Treetops Terrace.
