DESCRIPTION:Sand Mandala\nSunday\, January 20th\, 2019 from 12:00 pm\nWednesday\, January 23rd\, 2019 from 11:00 am\nThursday\, January 24th\, 2019 from 11:00 am\nFriday\, January 25th\, 2019 from 11:00 am\nSaturday\, January 26th\, 2019 from 11:00 am\nUSC Pacific Asia Museum\n\n\nUSC Pacific Asia Museum is proud to host Tibetan monks from the Drepung Gomang Monastery. They will spend one week creating a Sand Mandala\, a Tibetan Buddhist tradition that involves the creation and destruction of paintings made from colored sand. Once completed\, it is ritualistically dismantled to symbolize the Buddhist belief in the transitory nature of material life.\n\nThe opening blessing ceremony will take place on Sunday\, January 20 at 12:00pm and the closing dissolution ceremony will take place on Saturday\, January 26 at 12:00pm.\n\nMuseum visitors will be able to observe the creation of the mandala during regular public open hours.\n\n\nCost: Free with museum admission\n\nSunday\, January 20 at 12 noon:  Opening Ceremony\n\nWednesday\, January 23 at 12 noon: Prayers for World Peace and meet the monks\n\nThursday\, January 24 at 7pm: Chod Puja: a combination of chanting\, music\, prayer and visualizations using Tibetan instruments\n\nSaturday\, January 26 at 12 noon: Closing Ceremony
