DESCRIPTION:Depot Day is Travel Town's annual celebration and open house.\n\nThis year\, Travel Town celebrates the 150th anniversary of the completion of America's Transcontinental Railroad. The Museum is featuring its newly restored 1864 locomotive that helped to build it.\n\nIt is one of only three original Central Pacific Railroad engines still in existence.\n\nHighlighting this special period in United States history\, Depot Day has a Victorian era theme\, with period costume dress and Civil War reenactments.\n\nThere are talks by train restoration experts\, and tours through vintage railway passenger cars\, as well as model train display layouts and jazz performances by high school bands. Travel Town features antique transportation and railroad exhibits\, including the largest collection of steam locomotives in California. A mile-long miniature train ride is available with purchase of ticket.
