Learn about space exploration from JPL and Carnegie Observatories\, talk to experts from San Fernando Valley Audubon Society\, and find out more about the pollinators that help make our garden bloom. Grab dinner and a drink\, enjoy the sunset\, and wander the gardens as the Flashdance DJs spin all-vinyl sets of tunes.\n\n\n\n$5 members; $15 nonmembers. Advance tickets required\, register here.\n\n\n\nRose Garden\n\nJPL Display | 5:30–8:30pm\nTalk to scientists from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and learn about space exploration.\n\nPlanetarium Shows *limited space available | 5:40\, 6:10\, 6:40\, 7:10\, 7:40 & 8:10pm\nExperience Carnegie Observatories‘ inflatable planetarium. Timed tickets available at the Rose Garden Pavilion beginning at 5:30pm. Participants must be able to sit on the ground for 20 minutes. Space extremely limited and is first-come\, first-served.\n\nAstronomy Talks | 6:30\, 7 & 7:30pm\nLearn about gravitational wave astronomy with Carnegie Observatories scientist\, Dr. Philip Cowperthwaite.\n\nPatina Concession Stand | 5:30–8pm\nFood and drinks available for purchase.\n\nPromenade\n\nBee Discovery Display | 5:30–8:30pm\nLearn about the relationship between flowers and bees at this interactive display created by Descanso’s Native Garden Horticulturist\, Layla Valenzuela.\n\nMicroscopes and Magnifiers Station | 5:30–8:30pm\nTry out these scientific tools to get a closer look at nature.\n\nOak Grove\n\nThe Weaving Project | 5:30–7:30pm\nExplore connections between art and our natural world. Together with artist Ben Allanoff\, weave a community sculpture using sticks and natural materials.
