SUMMARY:Centennial Tree Lighting Event
DESCRIPTION:Library Park transforms into a winter wonderland with snow sledding and snow play areas\, decorated trees\, strolling carolers\, shopping at the craft boutique\, Candy Cane Kids Zone game area\, musical performances\, food vendors from our Farmers Market\, children’s train rides\, Frosty the Snowman\, a “green screen” portrait booth and more!  As usual\, kids will have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus—this year at his home away from home in the Library Park Gazebo.  Starting November 27\, El Segundo residents with valid 2017 or 2018 Recreation I.D Cards will have access to 300 “fast pass” wrist bands available at the Clubhouse or Check Out Buildings in Recreation Park.  These will allow a short cut to meeting Santa from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.  The historic hundred-foot El Segundo Christmas Pine Tree will light up in a spectacular fashion promptly at 5:30 pm and the park’s trees and gazebo will remain lighted throughout the holiday season for viewing and strolling pleasure.
