DESCRIPTION:\n\n上星期在 Once Upon a Time Bookstore 舉行的 Stuart Gibbs 童書作家面對面 + 簽書會，小記者 Ryan Lo 是 Spy School 系列的超級粉絲，當然不會錯過大好機會，與名作家 Stuart Gibbs 進行了難得的現場專訪，Stuart 非常友善又風趣，與 Ryan 對談了好久呢！一起來看看訪談過程吧 . . .\n\n另外，專訪的拍攝和剪接都是由小記者 Ryan Lin 全力負責，大家覺得小導演的功力是不是又更進一步了？\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeIZ5-pnCl4\n\nSpy School 系列的新書 Spy School Goes South 出版了，大家不要錯過喔～\nhttps://www.amazon.com/School-Goes-South-Stuart-Gibbs/dp/1481477854/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541258645&sr=8-1&keywords=spy+school+goes+south+book\n\n\n\n\n\nRyan Lo (age 11)\nEvery child has a favorite author and mine is Stuart Gibbs!   Stuart Gibbs is a very famous children's book author who has written many book series.  His popular book series are Funjungle\,  Moon Alpha Base\, Last Musketeer\, and Spy School.  His latest book is Spy School Goes South.\n\nThis November I had the honor to interview Stuart Gibbs in Once Upon A Time children's bookstore.  I was very excited about this for two reasons.  Number one\, I finally got to meet my idol!  I own ALL Stuart Gibbs' books and have read all them at least three times.  I was very nervous to interview him and  had butterflies in my stomach even the day before.  But  Stuart Gibbs made me felt very comfortable and was kept smiling at me during the interview.\n\n I was also very excited by the fact that I get to interview him in the oldest children's bookstore in the nation.  Who would have guessed that this famous book is located right here in Southern California! To be exact\, Once Upon A Time bookstore is located in Montrose\, CA\, which is a small city next to La Cananda.  Founded in 1966\, this bookstore has been a magical place for thousands of children and adults. What I love about this bookstore is everyone who works there love to read ( like me!) and they are very knowledgeable about books. Unlike many chain bookstore or Amazon\, this place sells stories and dreams!\n\nStuart Gibbs is a prolific writer but he did not start his career as a writer.  In college he studied field biology and spent a lot of time in the zoo which gave him the inspiration for writing Funjungle series.  As a child\, he loves James Bond movies and a mystery novel called the Westing Game by Ellen Raskin\,  which made him wanting to write spy books for children. The book Phantom Tollboth is also another source inspiration which encouraged him to play around with words to make writing more interesting and fun!   As a person\, Stuart Gibbs is down to earthy\,  funny. He loves animals\, nature\, and is really big on family!\n\nSpy School Goes South is the 6th book in the Spy School series.  It is about a boy named Ben Ripley who has been fighting against an organization named SPYDER every since in book 1. In this book\, Ben is given by a lifetime opportunity to destroy the leaders of the SPYDER once for all. So he and his partner go down to Mexico  in hopes that they  will finally be able to take down SPYDER.  Will they able to complete their mission in a foreign country surrounded with a lot of unexpected catastrophic events?     This book is filled with suspense \, adventures and also fun!. I think it is a must read for everyone!

DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n上週日，第一屆趣味數字競賽於天普市熱鬧舉行，108位 3～8年級小學和初中生齊聚天普市社區中心，一同參加這項比賽，現場熱鬧非凡，歡笑聲此起彼落，小朋友們在競賽中收穫了友誼、知識和對數學的熱情。\n\n這項非常有趣又富教育性的趣味數字競賽，以有趣的遊戲，挑戰孩子的數學和數字概念，原來是24位來自 Arcadia High School 和Flintridge High School 的高中生一起創辦的，果然是創意與魄力無限！\n\n這次活動還獲得社區許多商號和個人支持和贊助，讓所有參賽者都能得到小獎品和小吃，玩得更投入 ！\n\n作為榮譽協辦單位的丫丫園地，我們非常高興能參與這個開心又富教育性的活動，期待明年再見！\n\nOn October 28\, a total of 109 matheletes between grades 3 through 8 gathered at Live Oak Park Recreation Center in Temple City\, CA and participated in the first Number Tournament event. The event lasted from 9 am through 12:30 pm and consisted of a total of 28 teams competing in 3 fun-filled math competition games: "Hit The Target"\, "24"\, and finally "Smash!".\n\nLastly\, the event could not have progressed more smoothly if it weren't from the support of a team of 24 students from nearby Arcadia High School and Flintridge High School volunteering as officials and score-keepers along with all the devoted parents who attended the event.\n\nla JaJa Kids is proud to be a co-organizer of this inaugural "edu-taining" event. DESCRIPTION:\n\n丫丫小記者 Doria 上週末出席了樂高樂園萬聖節主題活動 Brick or Treat 「歡樂十月萬聖派對」，與現場上千位小朋友一起迎接萬聖節的到來，除了以招牌樂高積木砌成的 Brick-or-Treat Trail 外，還有海洋生物館的精彩活動、變身成為「鬼船」的機動遊戲、pop badge 大挑戰、Lego 砌積木活動、繽紛糖果站、好笑又富創意的兒童變裝大遊行、還有精彩舞台音樂舞蹈演出、連 Sea Life 水族館與兩家主題酒店都有好多驚喜，晚上更有煙火表演，真是讓人流連忘返！\n\n一起來看看 Doria 分享的親身經驗吧 . . . \n\n\nDoria Chen\, age 9\nOn the weekend\, in the month of October\, Legoland holds a festival called Brick or Treat. Legoland’s members or employees help pass out candy to kids and adults with or without costumes. There are dance parties for any age when the sun goes down\, and the line for the rides is even shorter than ever. Near the Aquazone Wave Racer\, there is usually a costume contest where people wearing costumes may compete.\n\nAs we entered\, there were Lego people welcoming us.. We couldn’t believe the amount of people dressed up for this event. Many families dressed as a team\, like the Incredibles from the Disney movies or the characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas. There were even strollers decorated as vehicles like a fire truck with flashing lights. There were many stops to trick or treat and by the time you finished you looked like Santa with a sack full of candy. You might not know what the adults were thinking\,the kids were thinking “ I want more candy!’’. To add to the excitement\, there were rides that were decorated with Halloween themed decorations and some employees were walking on meter tall wooden legs.\n\nThe amazing 4 hours went by so fast almost like the blink of your eye!. The employees and visitors were extremely kind.Hopefully\, you get a chance to visit Legoland during Halloween time.
