The show was the company’s 2nd production and have been having tours since fall 2011. We had the opportunity to interview the workers backstage inside the world largest white tent in Orange County where horses and people were performing the show.\n           When we arrived\, we went inside the VIP lounge where there was food and drink provided for free before and in the middle of the show.  We watched the Cavalia Odysseo where there were many\, many\, horses and people were performing in different scenes\, such as Easter Island\, Great Plains\, Forest\, Merry-go-round\, etc. The performers dressed up as Greece\, modern people\, and explorers in order to match with the scenes and stories. It was amazing. All the performers and horses were acting so natural and every single scene is very attractive. It took a lot of training with their performing equestrian where there were 70 horses and 45 artist to make a land of dreaming imagination. These horses and riders act as they are together as friends and family that makes people enjoy the show. In one part the rider fell off the horse and in another part a hoop fell down and then carried a person and did tricks while on the hoop. The background continue to change while the riders and horses performed\, which make the show more fun to look at.  \n    After the show we Lajaja Kids went backstage and saw the horses at their stables and some of the horses that were in the show were seen in their stables too. At the end we Lajaja Kids got a chance to touch a horse and ask its rider questions about the horses\, show\, and riders about how they trained in their stadium and see the horses inside their stables. All the horses were being picked by the experts in the community. Each horse had to be trained and tested in order to find the right owner. Sometimes it takes couple years to have the horse ready to perform. We were also get the chance to stand on the stage in order to feel how it is as a performer. It is quite amazing for the horses and the riders be able to have so many different actions on the stage.\n  \n\n\n\n\nThe Magic Awakens at Cavalia Odysseo\nby Bianca Chiu\n            Dinner\, Drinks\, Dessert\, and a magical show put together by acrobats and horses\, who could ask for more? It’s all right there at Cavalia Odysseo\, where two Lajaja Kids Junior Journalists visited on February 25\, 2016.\n            When they arrived\, the excited journalists got their VIP passes\, free programs\, and a poster as they headed on to the buffet\, which was filled with tasty food to get you stuffed for the show. Things like beef\, chicken\, and crackers with hummus welcomed everyone as they toured around the world’s largest white tent\, which was also their lounge.\n            When time came for the show to start\, the VIPs all rushed to grab their free popcorn\, and the journalists skipped into the dim stadium\, where the got seated in the row CC (third row) of section two in the seating area.\n            As the show started\, everyone stuffed popcorn into their face and watched carefully at the first scene\, which was basically horses doing tricks with actors as a lady sang a song in a language I do not know. The scenes went by in a flash\, with all the horsemen jumping and climbing around their horse. Unfortunately\, one actor fell off his horse and almost got trampled over. Luckily\, and to everyone’s surprise\, the horse stopped at the sight of its fallen owner\, so no damage was done to either of them.\n            When the first half of the show was over\, the journalists headed back towards the lounge and ate dessert. There was tiramisu cake\, chocolate fudge\, and little cubes of red-velvet cake coated with chocolate. Eating and chatting\, almost everyone in the lounge was talking about what they saw guessing what sort of magic was to be uncovered next.\n            All that was revealed when the break ended and the show began again. Grabbing more popcorn\, the people stampeded towards their original seats in the stadium and chittered excitedly\, impatient as ever for a show to start.\n            The second half of the show was even better than the first! In one of the scenes\, acrobats flew around in the air with nothing to support them but thin\, silver hoops. There wasn’t even a wire! They would just hang by their hand\, leg\, and even neck! In another scene\, the audience learned the saying “O walu guere moufan!”\, which basically means No More War on Earth.\n            In one of the last parts of the show\,  a horse skidded across the water\, splashing the audience as it danced to a music. (IT DANCED!) Lieu (born March 29\, 1969) is a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives\, representing California's 33rd congressional district since 2015.\n\nLieu was a California State Senator\, who represented the 28th Senate District from February 2011 to November 2014\, after being elected to fill the seat of deceased Senator Jenny Oropeza. Lieu was also a California State Assemblyman\, who represented the 53rd Assembly District from September 2005 to November 2010\, after being elected to fill the seat of deceased Assemblyman Mike Gordon.\n\nBorn in Taipei\, Taiwan\, Lieu's family immigrated to Cleveland\, Ohio\, where he grew up. Lieu graduated from Stanford University in 1991 with a B.S. in Computer Science and an A.B. in Political Science and graduated magna cum laude with a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1994\, where he was Editor in Chief of the Georgetown Law Journal and received four American Jurisprudence awards.\n\nHe holds the rank of Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves. He served on active duty for 4 years as a member of the JAG Corps. His family led a tough life when they first moved from Taiwan to Ohio. After much hard work and dedication\, they overcame their difficulties. In his opinion\, Congressman Lieu’s family achieved the American dream. This background inspired him to go into law and politics so he could help others.\n\nFor the younger generation\, education is an important issue. Congressman Lieu is pushing hard for increased education for Pacific Islanders. He hopes more funds will go\ntowards education for other than the 50. Most of the educational funds in government aren’t received by Pacific Islander students who need it.\n\nIn 2011\, Congressman Lieu and his family has been victims of a swatting incident\, when a criminal makes a fraud emergency call stating that someone has killed other people\, causing police to spend their time and supplies on a crime that is nonexistent. The incident led Congressman Lieu to press for increased penalties on this type of crime.\n\nPresident Obama is an inspiration to Congressman Lieu. He stated\, “I think President Obama is a great man\, he is an inspiration to me.” Congressman Lieu also mentioned that President Obama has accomplished many things beneficial to our country during his years in the office. He encourages U.S. citizens to vote in the presidential election on November 8.\n\n\n\nJunior Journalist Interview with Congressman Ted Lieu\n \nBy Isabel Lau (age 11)\n“You will be interviewing Congressman Ted Lieu this Sunday\,” my father informed me on Friday afternoon. I never thought I would ever hear those words. I felt really excited and nervous at the same time. Two La JaJa Kids Junior Journalists would be preparing for one of the biggest interview of their lives.\n\nRight away\, I started researching about Congressman Lieu. I found out that he is a representative of California’s congressional 33rd district. He is part of the democratic party.He is an immigrant from Taiwan. He moved to America with his family when he was three\, seeking a better life. He also spoke at the 2016 Democratic National Convention endorsing Hillary Clinton as president. I also found he lives in Torrance with his wife and two sons.\n\nFrom that research\, I came up with some questions such as:\n1)Lately\, one of the big talked about issue is immigration reform. The republican candidate Donald Trump proposed to build a wall on the border between the US and Mexico. What’s your proposed solution on this topic?\n2) A few months back\, I watched you speak at the 2016 DNC. How was it like to have that opportunity to be able to share the stage with the top officials of this country? Can you share with me that experience? \n3)Within both the democrat and republican parties\, there seem to be a lot of disagreements on some issues. Has this problem ever happened to you? If so\, how did you deal with it?\n4)I know that you are a busy man\, Is it hard balancing your family and your job?\n\nMy first question came to mind when I started researching about some issues that were talked about a lot recently. I saw an article about immigration reform. Since Congressman Lieu is an immigrant himself\, I wondered what he thought about this topic and how it affected immigrants. My second question was thought up of when I remembered a few months back\, I watched the Democratic National Convention where they nominated their party’s candidate for president. I saw that Congressman Lieu had spoken and nominated Hillary Clinton for the democratic candidate of the 2016 presidential election. Then\, I wondered what Congressman Lieu’s thoughts on that experience were. For the third question\, I know that Republican and Democrats are like black and white but\, I wanted to question how Congressman Lieu deals with it. For my last question\, I learned that he has a family of four\, and that seemed really hard to balance with due to his demanding job. We kept practicing our questions over and over again so we wouldn’t mess up our interview. When\, I interviewed Congressman Lieu\, the answers I got from him were that Immigration affects Asian immigrants just as much as any immigrant. Congressman Lieu is an immigrant himself. If our republican candidate Donald Trump wins\, he will build a wall to prevent immigrants from coming into the US. He informed me that his experience at the DNC was very thrilling\, and that it was a great opportunity and honor to speak at the DNC. He was proud to be endorsing Hillary Clinton as the first female democratic nominee for president. He also informed me that balancing his family and job is not easy. On Monday morning\, he flies to Washington D.C. and flies back to LA every Thursday afternoon. He does this three weeks in a month.\n\nI learned a lot from this amazing experience and opportunity. I think Congressman Lieu is a great politician.\n\n
