It turned out to be fun and I enjoyed it a lot! I met Christopher at a collectibles show. He has a lot of very cool drawings and my mom bought me a poster of a drawing that he did with 721 Pokemons. So I wanted to ask him about how he became so good at drawing. I was excited when he agreed to let us interview him. We decided to do a Google Hangouts interview since we live too far from each other. This was also my first time doing an online interview so we had to get ready and prepared. \nTo prepare it was a little difficult because we had to learn to set up the Google Hangouts. Sometimes during the interview we would get cut off. The easy and fun part was watching some of his videos on his youtube channel. Christopher goes to conventions and he sells his art.  He has to drive a lot of places. He is all over selling at conventions. Sometimes he goes to the conventions outside and has to be in the heat. Or it can be in the indoors. You can view his vlogs on https://www.youtube.com/user/ccayco/videos.\nSo Christopher Cayco is an artist. He draws Pokemon\, League of Legends\, Disney princesses\, etc.... So that is a little bit of what he does. Some more things that I learned about Christopher Cayco is that he used to be a mechanic. It turned out he didn’t like it so he taught himself to become an artist. So if he never taught himself and practiced to draw to become an artist\, he said he would most likely be a mechanic the rest of his life. But he loved to draw so he spent time to practice. He learned from others by reading books\, researching online videos\, and drawing for hours and days. So that’s how he became an artist. \nHe has a Cintiq 13 for a drawing pad. He spends a lot of his time drawing. For one drawing he spent about 165 hours. It is actually pretty long for 165 hours. To get all the detail and characters it’s super hard I bet. He drew all 721 pokemon and I don’t know how he can fit so many characters. He said it took days to plan it all out before he started the actual drawing. I like the pokemon one the most because I’m a Pokemon fan. \nI had a very fun time doing the online interview with Christopher and Jaslyne. I really enjoyed it! The interview went well. It took a couple of times to get but we got it. I learned a lot about art and drawing from him. That is the cool thing about the online interview. Maybe I can become an artist too one day. DESCRIPTION:\n\n還有一個星期～一個星期～一個星期！因為很重要所以要說三遍！\n\n教育下一代是做父母一生的功課～～身處美國和這個變幻快速的社會，孩子往往有太多不同的成長方向。所以《親子童樂日》除了遊樂活動，更是一個 《家長教育展》！今年 KidsFest 的《專家講座 ＋ 親子教室》活動名單出爐囉，一起看看哪些專家講座和示範教學分享能為你解答問題？\n\n\n\n專 家 講 座 時 間 表 Education Seminars\n\n12:00-12:45 pm \n如 何 從 藝 術 興 趣 走 向 設 計 專 業 Fostering Creativity in the 21 Century\n\n\n本次研討會主題主要是想把現代藝術教育理念和方式傳達給大家。藝術和設計專業是現在目前各類行業都需要的熱門職業，每個行業都會涉及到廣告，包裝，產品，網頁等，而這些，全都靠“藝術”與“設計”。藝術行業，不再是以前舊年代那個“找不到飯吃”的職業，反之，不僅僅是目前，更是以後的各種行業發展裡都會需求的一部份。\n\n那麼，我們如何把喜歡在家裡塗鴉的孩子，培養成以後將來能夠把藝術這門興趣做為自己的強項和專業呢？本次研討會，潘老師正是想要解答大家對藝術教育的各種疑惑，以及告訴大家如何在適當的時期給予孩子正確的藝術教育方式。\n專家資料：潘民生 Ming Pan\n名畫創意美術學院創始於 2015\, 創辦人潘民生 Ming Pan\, 10 歲開始學習中國傳統水墨畫，12 歲就舉辦個人巡迴畫展，後畢業於美國加州洛杉磯 Pasadena 藝術中心設計學院 Art Center College of Design，現任好萊塢電影製作公司特效創意美術總監，是極少數華人在美國電影業裡占有重要地位的成功例子。\n\n近年來潘民生曾參與許多好萊塢電影大片製作，其中包括在 2015 年 7 月上映的漫威出版公司的大製作電影《蟻人》等等。從以藝術作為興趣到走向職業的道路上，Ming Pan 探索並融合中西文化藝術在自己的作品裡，多次得到藝術界前輩的稱讚以及新聞媒體的關注。在此同時，他創發 “畫覺”理念，希望能把這個概念分享給更多藝術愛好者。\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n1:00-1:45 pm \nThe Complexity and Benefits of Bilingualism\n許多家長都希望盡早培養孩子的雙語、甚至多國語言的能力，讓孩子能在競爭激烈的社會環境獨占鰲頭，可是雙語和多語能力的培養知易行難，小朋友經常在成長和學習過程中碰到挫折，甚至將各種語言混淆。。。\n\nRecess Therapy 兒科語音和語言診所創辦人Connie Yu 是一位認證的語音語言病理學家，資歷極為豐富，她將與家長一同研討培養雙語或多語能力的好處，以及如何解決難題。尤其針對發展程度不一的兒童，以及特殊需要的兒童的狀況分析和治療。Recess Therapy 兒科語音和語言診所更將提供免費語言治療諮詢服務，有興趣的家長一定要把握機會！\n\nAbout Connie Yu\nOur lead Speech Language Pathologist Connie Yu is trained in Hanen Parent Trainer for "It Takes Two to Talk" and "More than Words". She is also PROMPT trained and implements the Lidcombe program for preschool children who exhibits early signs of stuttering. Mrs. Yu's passion lies on implementing social skills program for children with ADHD and Autism. She uses various programs not limited to "Kimochi's feelings"\, "Think Social" and "Color My Conversations". During Mrs. Yu's free time\, she enjoys spending time with her two children\, enjoying various ethnic foods and watching blockbuster movies.\nMrs. Yu earned her Bachelor of Science from University of California\, Riverside. Then obtained her Master's degree from University of Redlands. During her graduate training at University of Redlands\, Ca. Mrs. Yu graduated Summa Cum Laude and received numerous graduate scholarship. She was also nominated for the Parker Award in 2008\, and awarded for California Speech and Language Association (CSHA) Outstanding Graduate student award. DESCRIPTION:丫 丫 園 地 媒 體 新 聞 稿\n\n\n親子童樂日暨家庭教育展10月9日亞凱迪亞市舉行  \n邀請華裔家長及小朋友踴躍參加\n\n有賴各位媒體朋友的大力支持，今天的 KidsFest 新聞發佈會出席率極高，萬分感謝十多家文字與電子媒體的參與，也要謝謝榮譽贊助商 ScholarShare 、聯邦眾議員趙美心特別助理 Becky Chang 出席支持，當然還有我們可愛的小小三輪車騎士 Bryan Lin 的現身示範，讓我們的新聞發布會非常成功！除了感謝，也是激勵我們要盡力把親子童樂日和 Kids Bike Race 辦得更成功！\n\n10月9日見咯！\n\n\n\n【亞凱迪亞訊】由非營利親子機構丫丫園地主辦，亞凱迪亞市協辦，ScholarShare 加州 529 大學儲蓄計劃榮譽呈獻的 2016「親子童樂日暨家庭教育展」(KidsFest and Family Expo) 將於 10 月 9 日 (星期天) 在亞凱迪亞社區大會堂 Arcadia Community Center 隆重舉行。這個大型親子兒童博覽會以華裔家庭為對象，集教育、育兒資訊、親子活動、示範教學，以及表演娛樂於一身，更有多項極具特色的主題活動，以及資深親子教育專家出席座談會，必定讓家長和小朋友們滿載而歸。\n\n「親子童樂日」榮譽贊助單位 ScholarShare 加州 529 大學儲蓄計劃發言人 Yvette Haring 及 Garianne Dashiell 出席新聞發佈會，兩人表示：華裔家庭一向極為重視子女的教育和栽培，並積極為孩子的未來成長和發展作出各項籌備。ScholarShare 529 大學儲蓄計劃是由加州政府為家長提供稅務優惠的投資工具，旨在幫助父母為子女未來的大學教育經費提早作出妥善準備。ScholarShare 的經營理念與 KidsFest 的親子哲學十分吻合，希望藉著支持這個大型親子活動，將「聚沙成塔、未雨綢繆」的訊息進一步推廣華裔社區的每個角落，並鼓勵家長們早日展開儲蓄投資的行動。\n\n聯邦眾議員趙美心辦公室區域主管鄭涵嬪 Becky Cheng 也在百忙中抽空出席新聞發布會，表達趙美心眾議員長期以來對華裔家庭與下一代教育的重視和關懷，並呼籲華裔社區的家長和小朋友積極支持和參與親子童樂日的各項有意義活動。\n\n  \n\n非營利親子機構「丫丫園地親子網站」laJaJakids.com 發言人林敏知表示：「丫丫園地的目標，是籌辦一個屬於華人社區的兒童嘉年華及教育展，為家長們和各類教育資源搭上橋樑，讓小朋友可以在遊戲和互動學習中接觸新事物，並培養親子間的緊密關係和感情。親子童樂日暨家庭教育展是一個專為華裔家庭而設的大型兒童博覽會，集教育、育兒資訊、親子活動、示範教學，以及表演娛樂於一身。除了設有資訊攤位外，更邀請了多位資深親子教育專家出席座談會，與在場家長分享精要的育兒和教養心得，必定使家長們獲益良多。」\n\n親子童樂日將以第四屆「兒童慈善騎車樂」Kids Bike Race for Charity 拉開帷幕，當天將由百多位小騎士一起騎腳踏車，籌得之善款將捐贈給多家社區服務機構，包括：希望之城癌症研究與治療中心、洛杉磯兒童醫院，以及亞凱迪亞市康樂部，讓小騎士的愛心回饋和服務社區裡有需要的人士。主辦單位丫丫園地表示：兒童慈善騎車樂是一個別開生面的親子活動，自舉辦以來，一直深受大家支持，參加人數節節上升。今年的賽道更增添嶄新設計，增加了不同難度的障礙遊戲環節，讓各年齡層的小騎士都可以挑戰自己，並且玩得盡興。\n\n\n\n亞凱迪亞市是今年 KidsFest 的協辦單位，亞市政府康樂及社區服務部特別為場地和停車作出了仔細的安排～～Santa Anita 賽馬場將提供大型免費停車場，並特別安排多輛接駁專車提供免費接送服務，務求令所有家長和小朋友能輕鬆愉快地享受一整天的活動。\n\n今年親子童樂日將提供多個特色活動，包括由 Robotix 機器人學園贊助的「STEM 大本營」之兒童科技遊樂區，為不同年齡的小朋友提供各類以數理科技為主題的精彩遊戲及教學活動，例如：製作機器人、數學挑戰、3D 電腦筆、撰寫電腦程式、Minecraft 智力遊戲、平板電腦繪畫等，其他參與機構包括 Math Team by Ms. Wong、Aloha Math、eSun America、Youth Science Center、Rolling Robots 等，讓小朋友寓學習於娛樂，提升和發展對數理科技學科的濃厚興趣，為升學打好基礎。\n\n第二項特色活動是今年新增的「創意藝術園區」，由名畫創意美術學院贊助，以新穎的團體藝術創作活動，讓小朋友培養具有啟發性的創意和巧思，同時邀得著名華裔童書作家 Maple Lam 在現場與小朋友體驗童書插畫創作。\n\n第三項特色活動名為「體能動感園區」，由 SK 跆拳道中心特別贊助，讓小朋友可以好好伸展活動一下筋骨、訓練一下體能。其中有一座 40呎高的兒童攀石牆，以及花式滑板和兒童劍擊示範教學，都必定成為小朋友熱愛的好玩活動。\n\n\n\n每年的家庭教育展是 KidsFest 的重要環節，今年的教育和健康專題將由 iTalkBB 贊助，邀請多位教育及親子專家，包括活現社群臨床心理學哲學葉顏瑋茵博士、好萊塢電影製作公司特效創意美術總監潘民生、資深語言治療師 Connie Yu，著名營養師吳希素，以及數學奧林比亞賽導師 Virginia Wong 等，以互動和討論的方式與現場觀眾分享教養子女和學習方面的心得。\n\nKidsFest 的童樂大舞台每年都有不少精彩現場演出，多家著名兒童文藝團體將為觀眾帶來精彩演出，包括：Arte Flamenco、羅省粵語親子合唱團、 新宇舞蹈音樂演藝學院、SK 跆拳道，以及榮獲首屆漢字文化節全球華文話劇比賽五項冠軍的哈崗中文學校演出「七步詩」中文話劇，精彩可期。\n\n「2016 親子童樂日暨家庭教育展」歡迎所有南加華裔家庭一家總動員出席，本活動將於 10月 9 日星期天在亞凱迪亞社區會堂 Arcadia Community Center 隆重舉行，地址是：365 Campus Dr.\, Arcadia\, CA 91007，除了兒童慈善騎車樂籌款活動外，全日活動開放給所有家庭免費入場，有興趣參加的家長可以聯絡丫丫園地索取免費門票，或者到北京酸奶南加州各門市銷售取票。\n\n如要瀏覽親子童樂日詳情、索取免費門票，或報名參加兒童慈善騎車樂，請登入活動網站：www.KidsFestExpo.com。查詢電話：(323)728-7200。\n
