享譽全球的維也納少年合唱團將在這個週末舉行兩場 “Christmas In Vienna" 南加巡演音樂會，分別在12月2日晚上在 Northridge ，及12月3日下午在橙縣 Costa Mesa 演出，透過合唱團小男生宛若天使般的美妙歌聲，傳遞節日的愛與溫暖。

One of the world’s oldest and most revered choral groups, this illustrious group of child musicians has delighted music lovers around the world for more than five centuries with the exquisite purity of their voices and phenomenal sound.

Boys have been singing at Vienna’s Imperial Chapel since 1296. In 1498, Maximilian I moved his court to Vienna and instructed there were to be six singing boys among his musicians. This marked the foundation of what is known today as the Vienna Boys Choir. Over the centuries, the Viennese Court attracted musicians like Mozart, Salieri, and Bruckner; Joseph Haydn, Michael Haydn, and Franz Schubert were themselves choristers.

維也納少年合唱團是由羅馬帝國皇帝邁希米連一世(Maximilian I) 於1498年所創立，至今已有518年的悠久歷史，是世界上最著名的合唱團之一。在1918年之前，唯有在宮廷、皇家教堂彌撒以及國宴中才能聆賞到他們的美聲，現今他們則是全球炙手可熱、各地爭相邀請的合唱小天使。

合唱團團員皆由男童組成，團員年齡介於10至14歲之間，他們都在特定的學校就讀，從幼稚園到小學階段，接受完整的音樂與通識教育，到10歲時，最優秀的男童獲選加入合唱團，並隨團參加定期演出。維也納少年合唱團共分四團，分別以四位與該團淵源深厚的奧地利作曲家命名：海頓團、莫札特團、舒伯特團與布魯克納團，四團輪流在奧地利境內以及世界各地巡迴演出。每團每年巡演時間約9至11週，四團每年約舉辦300場音樂會，觀眾超過50萬人次。

團員原來所穿著的皇家制服，在1930年代改為今日大家詳熟的湛藍色以及白色的水手服，從此成為該團的標記。1960年代，奧地利政府更將國徽頒給合唱團當作團徽，象徵至高無上的榮耀。
