Alternate transportation is recommended.\n\nPlease note that admission\, parking\, and most vendors are cash only.\n\nOC Fair & Event Center does not allow pets with the exception of service animals — it is up to their discretion at the gate to allow your furry friends in.\n\nWe wish summer would never end\, but our last OC Night Market event of the year is August 24-26! SUMMARY:帕薩迪娜街頭粉筆畫嘉年華
DESCRIPTION:10am - 7pm\n\n巴沙迪那粉筆節被封稱為世界最大的粉筆畫比賽，粉筆節從1993年起每年六月舉行，至今已有超過二十年歷史，每年吸引來自全球各地藝術家參加，且參加人數年年增加，主辦單位多次打破世界金氏紀錄，成為最多人街頭繪畫活動。\n\n為期兩天的巴沙迪那粉筆節規定參加畫家必須在兩天內完成所有作品，每年耗費超過兩萬五千多根彩色粉筆，雖然要蹲坐在水泥地上畫畫，加上炎熱的天氣，連續畫上幾個小時非常耗體力 ，因此參賽者多以年青人或學生為主，成為他們盡情揮灑創意的機會。\n\n參加活動的藝術家可自行決定繪畫主題，每年少不了的是歷史人物、電影明星、卡通人物到大自然等主題，異國風格、刺青、古典、抽象圖騰和聖經故事也是常見的作品，除了個人組，也有人選擇靠團隊合作完成更壯觀作品，由於週末正好是父親節，該活動也成為許多參加者們送父親禮物的機會。\n\n最後將由評審將頒發十多個類別的繪畫獎項，民眾可與專家一同投票選出前三名，另其他獎項包括最佳名作、最佳技法、最佳創意、最佳幽默、最佳卡通、最佳立體3D等，希望街頭繪畫藝術發揚光大。\n\nHundreds of artists come from all across Southern California to spend two days on their hands and knees creating spectacular chalk murals on concrete areas in every style imaginable.\n\nIn addition to the extraordinary opportunity to watch artists at work\, guests are treated to live music an entertainment throughout the weekend. Ballots are available at Chalk Festival Info Booth located near the Main Stage.\n\n\n\nFUN FACTS\n\n\tFestival artists use more than 25\,000 sticks of chalk during the two-day festival.\n\tArtists at the festival learn to barter with others in order to get the chalk colors they need…and to make new friends!\n\tBlue is the most popular color used (8\,000 sticks used every year!)\, as it serves as the under-drawing base tint\, followed closely by black and white.\n\tSome muralists create their chalk paintings in about eight hours\, while for some of the true masterpieces of the festival\, artists utilize all 20-plus hours of daylight that the festival weekend allows.\n\tThe largest mural ever created at the festival featured a giant red squid – whose tentacles extended more than 20 feet. DESCRIPTION:11am - 4pm\n\nNothing screams free-and-easy more than a sky full of kites. And full the skies will be during the kite festival on Santa Monica beach. Everyone receives his or her own free\, unique kite along with a color theory lesson.\n\nKite builders and aficionados (many from nearby Otis College of Art and Design) sail their wares\, large and small.  Kite makers from across the United States also showcase their work and create a "gallery in the sky."\n\nThe event also features a workshop for kids focusing on the STEAM (Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, Art\, and Math) principles involved in kite-making\, blending ideas of physics of flight\, wind\, climate\, and sustainable materials with color theory\, art\, and design.\n\nParking costs $12 at the Pier lot; 90 minutes of free parking is available in city lots on 2nd Street for those who don't mind walking a couple of blocks.\n\nRSVP appreciated.
