DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe public is invited to cheer on the exceptional athletes of the Special Olympics at the 2019 Summer Games for Southern California.\n\nSummer Games attracts more than 1\,100 athletes from across Southern California who compete for gold\, silver\, and bronze medals and ribbons. The Games features five summer sports — athletics (track & field)\, basketball\, bocce\, flag football\, and swimming.\n\nAdmission is free and open to the public.\n\nA full schedule of events can be found online.\n\nOpening Ceremony:\nSaturday\, June 8 - 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.\n\nClosing Ceremony:\nSunday\, June 9 - 3 to 3:30 p.m.\n\nSummer Games is one of four annual championships held at the conclusion of each sport season\, with athletes coming together from throughout Southern California.\n\n\nWe will have many volunteer opportunities during Summer Games and need the help of 2\,000 volunteers to make to this event successful for the 1\,100 athletes that will compete.\n\n\n\n\nCome out an enjoy the day while you cheer on our athletes on June 8 & 9 at CSULB. Admission is free and open to the public!\n\n\n\n\n\n
