DESCRIPTION:The vermiculture process uses worms to break down food waste to make nutritious soil for plants to grow in. In this workshop\, learn how to make your own miniature worm composting bins using recycled materials. Supplies limited; register by Thursday before start date.\n\nParticipants should bring two nested containers. They can be yogurt containers\, to-go soup containers\, large tupperware\, etc. The container should be plastic and preferably with a lid and a wide mouth. Holes will be punctured to the lid and bottom of the containers for drainage and air. DESCRIPTION:The Huntington Beach Sister City Association is a volunteer organization dedicated to maintaining the tradition of friendship and cultural exchange with our sister city in Anjo\, Japan.  In 2013 the Huntington Beach Cherry Blossom festival was created by one of our student ambassadors as her Girl Scout Gold Award project after realizing the program was in jeopardy due to a lack of funding.  The Huntington Beach Cherry Blossom Festival features Japanese dance\, music\, cultural exhibits\, arts\, crafts and games and has become known for it's delicious Japanese food offerings!  The festival is advertised throughout Orange County and Los Angeles County and on social media.  Attendance at last years Festival was well over 8\,000 with a delegation coming all the way from Japan for the event!  If you would like to be involved with the Huntington Beach Sister City program as either a student ambassador or chaperone we encourage you to apply! DESCRIPTION:The story of Purim\, as told in Megillat Esther\, warns us of two characteristics of antisemitism that feel eerily familiar: the facility and immediacy with which animus toward one Jew becomes a vendetta against all\, and the danger of overt antisemitism colliding with its more subterranean counterpart. These eternal truths call us to account for our own complicity as we too often excuse anti-Jewish bias when it manifests among our allies\, all for the sake of the greater good. This is no longer about right vs left; we have to know that it’s the normalization of antisemitism on both right and left that poses the greatest danger.\n\n�

Using your child’s color identification skills go on a treasure hunt through the city to see if you can find the rainbow’s pot of gold!   \n\nGrown-up Tip: Don’t just wear your green\, eat your green! Do you have trouble getting your child to eat their greens? St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect opportunity to play on the color of the day with food. Fill a muffin pan with various healthy green foods like celery\, cucumbers\, avocados\, and more. Tell your child that they will be tasting leprechaun food. This will inspire your child to eat healthy and have fun!
